The Search for Sandy
Goodspeed Musicals and renowned animal trainer Bill Berloni are searching for the next shelter dog to play Annie’s beloved sidekick Sandy in Goodspeed’s 50th Anniversary production of Annie this fall. The selected dog will perform in the show, be adopted by Bill and live at his home in Connecticut.
Bill found and trained the original Sandy for Goodspeed’s world premiere production of Annie in 1976, and we’re thrilled that he’s returning 50 years later to bring us the next four-legged star!
Requirements for Sandy:
- Mixed breed (the more mixed, the better)
- 45–65 pounds
- 18–24 inches at the shoulder
- Medium to long hair (coarse or smooth)
- Beige coloring (see reference photos below)
- All dogs must be vaccinated.
Temperament:
- Outgoing and extremely friendly
- Dog-friendly
- Good with children (if known)
- Food- or toy-motivated
- Intelligent, with strong drive
Once we've received your submission, someone will be in touch, either way, in a few days.
If your dog is selected as a candidate, Bill will travel to you to conduct a temperament evaluation
