A Message From Kate:

March 18, 2020

As we react to the swirl of events and constantly changing information about the COVID-19 virus, we wanted to give you a brief update about what is happening here in East Haddam. We are actively monitoring the situation and our hearts are full with concern for all who are affected by this awful virus. To ensure the health and safety of our  staff, artists and patrons we have taken the following measures

  • Beginning today and for the near future, our staff will work remotely and all Goodspeed buildings will be closed. I will be checking email and telephone messages as often as possible.
  • South Pacific is scheduled to begin on April 17. It is clear that we will not be able to open on time. However, given the ever-changing guidelines from federal and state agencies, we are not certain how long we will need to delay the show. As soon as we have determined when it is safe to open the show, I will contact all group leaders and make any necessary changes for your group tickets.
  • Some group leaders have called about extending payment dates or changing to later performances. We will be as flexible as possible with our policies and will work with your group to resolve any issues once the new opening date is set.
As of today, none of our staff or their families have contracted the virus nor are known to have been exposed to it, something for which we are thankful. We also hope that you and your families remain safe and healthy during this difficult time.
We look forward to brighter times ahead and welcoming you back for a season full of entertaining musicals.

Goodspeed offers American musical theatre at its finest—Broadway-caliber performances with the charm and ease of a rural destination. Choose either a matinee or an evening performance, Wednesday through Sunday (please call for specific times and dates). Matinee performances are the first to fill up, so call early in the year to schedule your daytime trips.

Beyond the musical experience, we specialize in theatre and a little bit more... You may choose to package your theatre trip with another activity to make your event just a little different. Depending upon the nature of your group, you may want to consider a day-long excursion, or simply add a customized meal or reception to your evening’s plans.
