KIDS COMPANY ACADEMY TEACHING ARTISTS: Goodspeed Musicals seeks candidates for teaching artist positions as part of the new Kids Company Academy. Teaching artists in the fields of musical theatre dance, vocal performance, and acting are encouraged to apply to teach weekly classes on the Goodspeed campus to students ages 7-18. Teaching artists are responsible for creating their own lesson content and preparing any necessary materials for their classes in coordination with the Education Department, as well as preparing students for an informal studio showcase at the end of each semester. Fall classes begin Monday, September 9, 2019 and run through Friday, December 20, 2019; spring classes begin Monday, February 3, 2020 and run through Friday, May 15t 2020. Qualified candidates will have professional skills, training, and experience in one or more musical theatre performance disciplines; prior teaching or teaching artist experience on the K-12 level; experience and desire to teach in an inclusive environment; and a commitment to fostering soft skills such as teamwork, respect, responsibility, and empathy. DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATE to support the efforts of the Development Department as it cultivates, acquires, and stewards individual and institutional donors by: managing and maintaining the Goodspeed donor database; generating reports, mailing lists and department communications; assisting with follow-up efforts for both solicitation and acknowledgements; assisting with the planning and execution of all departmental special events. Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree, good writing skills, excellent book keeping skills, and strong computer literacy especially in the areas of Excel and data base management. AUDIO APPRENTICE/AUDIO SWING: Goodspeed Musicals has an immediate opening for an Audio Apprentice/Audio Swing for our upcoming productions of The Music Man. Duties include assisting Designer and Engineer in the setup and maintenance of audio equipment, including wireless microphones and pit audio/video. Applicants should have some experience working with wireless microphones and microphone rigging. Wig Apprentice: Goodspeed Musicals seeks a Wig Apprentice for our 2019 season. Duties include assisting the Resident Hair Designer and Wig Supervisor with all tasks associated with running the hair department. Responsibilities include but are not limited to; the styling and maintenance of all wigs and facial hair, repairing and ventilating pieces as needed, creating and updating production paperwork, act as a swing to cover the Wig Supervisor in the event of a planned or emergency absence, assisting the Costume Rental Collection staff with daily operations including; the transfer of costumes, labeling, restocking, and repairs of inventory, and assisting in the creation/data entry of inventories. Preferred candidates would be available April through November 2019, and be comfortable around and with large dogs and be free of any allergies to dogs.
