Episode 19: Becca Blackmore, Julian Blackmore & Dan Marshall
Thursday, Oct 15 at 7pmThis episode of In The (Home) Office will feature Becca Blackmore, Julian Blackmore and Dan Marshall, writers of The Peculiar Tale of the Prince of Bohemia and the Society of Desperate Victorians. It's an off-beat, dark comedy adaptation of Robert Louis Stevenson’s The Suicide Club. This wildly entertaining musical has a rock-influenced score and a hilarious book. We'll hear all about how the show has developed since it was showcased at Goodspeed's 2019 Festival of New Musicals.
Episode 18: Arri Lawton Simon & Janine McGuire
Thursday, Oct 1 at 7pmThis episode of In The (Home) Office will feature Arri Lawton Simon and Janine McGuire, writers of the new musical Borders. It's the story of a closeted Palestinian man, who falls in love with an Israeli soldier, in the early 2000s during the Second Intifada, a time of intensified Israeli-Palestinian violence. Developed at the Johnny Mercer Foundation Writers Grove at Goodspeed, this new musical examines the borders we construct within society and within ourselves.
Episode 17: Erin Courtney, Ellie Heyman & Max Vernon
Thursday, Sept 17 at 7pmThis week's episode will feature the authors of The Tattooed Lady, which was developed and presented at this year's Festival of New Musicals. Erin Courtney, Ellie Heyman and Max Vernon will update us on the work they’ve accomplished since the Festival. Special guest host for the night will be Goodspeed's Artistic Associate Anika Chapin.
Episode 16: Show Shepherd & Jay Rivera-Herrans
Thursday, Sept 3 at 7pmThis episode features Blair Russell and Matt Schicker of Show Shepherd, a team of theatrical advisors with a focus on the development of new works from both a creative and business perspective. Writer Jay Rivera-Herrans will also join us to discuss his new musical EPIC, an adaptation of The Odyssey, which is currently being developed through a fellowship with Show Shepherd.

Thursday, July 16 at 7pmThis week's episode will feature Devanand Janki, founder of Live & In Color. Located in Salem, CT, Live & In Color develops new works that celebrate diversity, emphasizing non-traditional casting and multi-ethnic participants. Writer and Actress Laiona Michelle (Goodspeed's Amazing Grace) will also join us to discuss her new musical Little Girl Blue - The Nina Simone Musical, which was developed through Live & In Color and had a sold-out run at the George Street Playhouse last year.
Episode 12: Kyle Puccia & Kalani Queypo
Thursday, July 2 at 7pmIn this episode, you'll get an exclusive look at a musical that's brand-new to Goodspeed audiences as Donna Lynn checks in with Kyle Puccia and Kalani Queypo, writers of Missing Peace: a Native American Musical. It's about Chase, who wakes up from a coma, his past a blur. Chase is happy and free...until the dark memories begin to surface. As the missing pieces of his memory begin to flood back, he uncovers a series of bad choices including his own attempted suicide. Will he be able to heal the damaged relationships with his loved ones and face his shrouded past?

Thursday, June 11 at 7pmIn this episode of In The (Home) Office, Donna Lynn checks in with Khiyon Hursey, writer of Sean's Story: Part One | The Awakening and Sean's Story: Part Two | The Reckoning. The new musical was developed at Goodspeed's 2020 Johnny Mercer Colony. It follows a young black man as he experiences love and loss for the first time.
Episode 8: Creighton Irons & Douglas Lyons
Thursday, May 28 at 7pmIn this episode, you'll get an exclusive look at a musical that's brand-new to Goodspeed audiences as Donna Lynn checks in with Creighton Irons (Factory Girls) and Douglas Lyons (Five Points), who collaborated on The Moon and the Sea. When Erin and Charlie accidentally reunite, four years since their breakup, one thing is crystal clear: they're still in love with each other. But Erin's fiancé isn't too far from the reunion, and love can only hide itself for so long. The Moon and the Sea was developed in part at Goodspeed’s Johnny Mercer Writers Colony.
Episode 6: GROW
Thursday, May 14 at 7pmDonna Lynn checks in with the authors of Grow, which was developed and presented at this year's Festival of New Musicals. Colleen Dauncey, Matt Murray and Akiva Romer-Segal will update us on the work they’ve accomplished since the Festival. We'll talk about their cancelled full production at the Grand Theatre in London, Ontario and we will hear some songs…maybe even a brand-new one!
Episode 5: Sara Cooper & Lynne Shankel
Thursday, May 7 at 7pmIn this episode, you'll get an exclusive look at a musical that's brand-new to Goodspeed audiences as Donna Lynn checks in with Sara Cooper and Lynne Shankel, writers of HoT. It's an all-female, darkly comic, through-composed, feminist adaptation of Helen of Troy. It examines the commodification of women throughout our lifetimes as Helen is held to unrealistic beauty and gender-based standards, vilified and discarded—until she decides to stand up and take her power back. HoT was developed in part at Goodspeed’s Johnny Mercer Writers Colony.
Episode 4: Douglas Waterbury-Tieman
Thursday, April 30, 2020Donna Lynn checked in with Douglas Waterbury-Tieman, who wrote the new musical Johnny & The Devil's Box, which was developed at Goodspeed's Festival of New Musicals and the Johnny Mercer Writers Colony. You'll even see a live performance of some songs from this brand-new musical!
