Goodspeed Musicals offers Broadway-caliber performances at two unique locations with lots of small-town charm. Bring your group to see a classic musical theatre performance at the historic Goodspeed or head to The Terris Theatre in Chester to experience the magic of a brand new musical!

We welcome groups of all different types to join us at both theatre locations including colleges, adult communities, senior centers, churches, synagogues, tour groups and fundraisers, professional organizations and businesses, social clubs, school groups, summer camps, community theatres, birthday parties, family reunions and more. We even offer meal packages with Wednesday & Thursday matinees and Wednesday, Thursday, Friday & Sunday evening performances to make your visit more enjoyable!

Booking Policy

  • Group discounts are available for parties 20 or more
  • Deposit (groups of 30 or less $250; groups of 30 or more $500) is due 2 weeks after the order is placed
  • Final count and payment is due 30 days before the performance
  • Group leaders are responsible for distribution of tickets prior to entering the theatre lobby

Accessibility

The Orchestra Level of The Goodspeed is accessible by elevator. Balcony Level is NOT accessible by elevator. Sennheiser infrared hearing systems for hearing impaired patrons are available to borrow at the Box Office.

Please inform our Group Sales Manager if anyone in your group requires special assistance, including:

  • Access to the elevator to enter the building (The Goodspeed only)
  • Removal of a theatre seat to accommodate a wheelchair or oversize seat is available

Other Important Information

  • We suggest arriving 45 minutes prior to curtain to allow time for your group to use the restrooms, visit the bar and be seated comfortably (seating begins 30 minutes prior to curtain).
  • The swing bridge over the Connecticut River on the way to The Goodspeed periodically opens for boat traffic, causing a minor delay. Please allow extra time when coming to The Goodspeed for a performance.
  • Show duration averages 2.5 hours including one 15 minute intermission

Tips

Always order the maximum number of tickets you might use.
When placing orders it is in your best interest to request for the maximum number of tickets you might possibly use. You can always decrease the number but additional seats will not necessarily be available if you need to increase your ticket count. 

Consider the front row of the balcony instead of the orchestra.
Unless you have considerable difficulty climbing stairs your bet for the best seats may be the front mezzanine. The sight lines are excellent and many savvy theatre-goers (particularly for a musical) will make the front of the balcony their first choice. The side orchestra and front row of the balcony are priced the same. Where would you rather be, at the rear side of the orchestra or in the first row upstairs?

Consider attending on a weeknight.
The greatest demand for tickets at The Goodspeed is on a weekday matinee or the weekend. We don’t want to discourage you from trying to obtain a weekday matinee performance but if you can make the arrangements to go on a weeknight, your seating selections may be better. So set the evening aside and come out to the theatre on a Wednesday or Thursday night for the best value.

Have alternate choices in mind when you order.
We aren’t saying you won’t get your first choice date but The Goodspeed and The Terris Theatre are intimate spaces, meaning they aren’t very big, and demand on tickets can be greater than the supply. The more choices you provide, the better equipped we’ll be to assist you.

Make your group experience special.
Going to a show is wonderful, but why not extend the fun with your group by arranging lunch or dinner together, or a visit to one of the East Haddam or Chester’s fabulous attractions? There’s so much to see and do here that it would be a shame not to take in as much as you possibly can!
