The support of friends like you is what makes the magic of Goodspeed possible. We can’t do it without you – so thank you for your generosity.

Below you can find information on the various ways to support Goodspeed and our programs. Please consider providing general operating support by becoming a member, or donating to a specific area that meets your interests.

If you have any questions, our Development team is happy to help and can be reached at 860.873.8664, ext. 317.

Through the years, the dedication and support of our members has been the most important component of Goodspeed's success.

Each year Goodspeed welcomes nearly 130,000 patrons to experience the magic of musical theatre through timeless classics and vibrant new works.  Still, ticket sales cover only 60% of the cost of making all of this happen.  As a non-profit theatre, we rely upon the generous support of individuals just like you to continue producing works of artistic excellence and making these productions accessible to everyone.

Great theatre needs so many people – from the musician in the pit, to the actors and production staff – to you.  Our partnership with our members is what makes the art of what we do possible.  Please join today.

Goodspeed’s education programs offered through the Max Showalter Center for Education in Musical Theatre engage young people in the creative process of musical theatre and, by doing so, make the art form accessible to new generations of theater goers. Goodspeed serves nearly 3,000 children and students each season, and our programs include:

  • The Goodspeed Institute, an ever-growing education and training initiative that offers a wide array of workshops and intensives for students, young professionals and individuals looking to continue their education in the arts.
  • Arts Education Collaboration, which provides access to approximately 750 underserved students annually to a musical theatre production and gives them a special “behind-the-scenes” look into the making of a show.
  • Theatre Access Across Connecticut, our newest outreach program that provides measurable arts education experiences to at-risk populations.
  • Internship and Apprenticeship Program, which assists undergraduate and graduate students in gaining experience in musical theatre production and management.
  • Kids’/Teens’ Nights, which are offered for each production at The Goodspeed to thousands of youngsters to see the magic of live musical theatre at a deeply reduced rate.

Since 2016, Goodspeed has offered family-friendly performances that are designed for children, adolescents and families throughout the region who are affected by sensory-input disorders. At these performances, the theatre environment is altered to provide a safe, friendly, comfortable and judgment-free zone that is welcoming for all. Your donation helps us bring the magic of musical theatre – often for the first time – to this underserved community.

You can ensure that the beauty of the iconic Goodspeed Opera House will be shared by generations to come.  Your donation to the Building Preservation Fund will help Goodspeed retain the historic charm and character of the building while providing the modern amenities that audiences expect. Whenever you see a show at the Goodspeed, you will know that its splendor is thanks to your support!

Goodspeed Festival of New Musicals

After nearly five decades at the helm, Michael Price left Goodspeed as a fiscally sound and artistically thriving institution. The Michael Price Endowment Fund was established to recognize and institutionalize his nearly half-century of leadership of our theatre. The fund supports Goodspeed’s core mission by helping to produce one mainstage musical each season.  Please join us in looking forward to many more years of theatrical magic by investing in Goodspeed’s future and generously supporting The Michael Price Endowment Fund at Goodspeed Musicals.
